Getting Started is easy. Read through this quick guide and you’ll be tracking, making friends and commenting like a pro in no time. Props!

The Feed

The Feed is a collection of everything you follow on Fitocracy. Your friends, their workouts. Watch what other people are doing, ask them questions. Learn something new.

The feed filters allow you to choose what you want to view. Just want to see what your friends are doing? Hit Friends and you’re good. Same thing goes for Groups Chatter. Everyone is the feed for everyone on Fitocracy. You? Well, that’s just you.

Add Tags to your profile to display your interests. Afterwards, make some new friends by clicking on a tag to find other Fitocrats into the same things.

What is a prop and why should you give them? Remember the last time someone said something nice to you? How’d that make you feel? Pretty good I bet. Props are Fitocracy’s way of saying ‘Nice Job!’ Props not enough for you? That’s fine. You can add a comment. Ask a question. Answer a question. Now you’re getting it.

Notifications & Options

Notifications are an easy way to tell you the latest happenings and what your friends have been doing. The Option Menu lets you invite your friends, access your settings, and to become a Hero!

Access your notifications by clicking in the top right. You'll see comments, props, and new followers.

Access additional options by clicking on your profile picture in the navigation. Use it to Invite Friends, become a Fitocracy Hero, change your settings, sign out, and access help, privacy policies, and more!

Tracking Workouts

Improving your fitness means tracking your workouts. Tracking your workouts gets you points. Points are awesome and lead to improved fitness. The circle of life, baby.

Tracking your workouts is a proven way to improve your fitness, so make sure to Track each of your workouts on Fitocracy. Don’t forget... If you forget to track, you might slip in your Leaders position!

Use the Date Picker to select the day you want to track your workout for. Miss a day? No problem. Just turn back the clock. You can add and edit your workouts at any time.

Finding activities to Track on Fitocracy is easy. Just start typing the name of the activity in the search box and we'll find what you're looking for. You can see your recent activities, and your routines (We’ll get to those in a minute). You also try using the Body Part, Equipment, and Cardio filters to narrow down your search. Are we missing an activity? Let us know, and we’ll add it as soon as we can.

Some exercises have Advanced Options. Hit the link to reveal the additional fields. For example, with chin-ups, you can record assisted, or extra weight. With running, you can add pace, and heart rate. Go you!

Once you're finished filling out the details of each activity, or changing your current weight, click the Log Workout button to save them. The Advanced Save Options allow you can save a workout as a routine.

Points & Levels

Improving your fitness means tracking your workouts. Tracking your workouts gets you points. Points are awesome and lead to improved fitness. The circle of life, baby.

You earn points for every activity you log on Fitocracy. Some actions are worth more than others depending on how difficult they are and their return on your fitness. As you earn points, you’ll see your progress bar fill up.

Levels are a way to see how far you’ve come are in your personal fitness. Getting to the next Level means that you’ve made progress. Nice work! The stats bar in the lower left shows you how many points you need before you Level Up, and how many Achievements and Quests you've unlocked.

How do you compare to your friends? How about everyone on Fitocracy? Just this week, or for the last 90 days. We also have a spotlight that highlights extraordinary members.

Quests are optional goals you can try to beat in order to push yourself further and win bonus points. Click on the Quests link at the bottom left corner of the screen to see the list of available quests. Fulfill the quests and show the world who's boss. Hint: you are.

Achievement badges are received as recognition for reaching a special milestone. They’re designed to be showed off so when you get one, display it loud and proud. Oh, yes. We have a robot. He’s called FRED. He calculates your points and gives you badges.

Groups & Challenges

Groups are collections of like-minded folks. We have them for running, lifting, you name it. Don’t see one you like? Make your own. Have some members? Why not create a Group Challenge?

One of the best ways to keep motivated is to talk about your fitness with others. Some groups are competitive, some are purely social. They can be open to all, or private. Want feedback on your form? Join a Group, post a video and ask. Like Peanut Butter? Yup. We have you covered. Mmm... peanut butter. Wait. Er. Where were we?...
